Man badly injured outside Leeds pub after England match

A forty year old man, from West Park area had been punched to the ground. A man had punched him outside The Skyrack in Headingley. They were all there to watch a soccer match. The Leeds pub following England’s first World Cup match, had been packed inside as outside. The Det Supt Paul Taylor said: “The victim is in a very serious condition in hospital and we are obviously extremely about him.” Even if it was packed there would have been some witnesses who have seen it happen and he says that these people need to contact them with any information they have of that night.

It is hard to believe that people are fighting because of a soccer match. They are definitely fanatics if it is about their own soccer team. How hard did the man punch the victim that he is in critical condition? That means that he man was really angry when he punched the victim. So there must be something that had happened, perhaps some the exchanged words and led into this result. So there must be some witnesses who had seen what had happened. And who had punched the victim. It is hard to hit someone to the ground without people not noticing.

  1. I don't understand why a football match made somebody so angry that he took it out on someone else and punched him so hard he is in a critical condition. I hope the man who did this gets a tough sentence. It was packed in the pub so there should have been enough people in and around the pub that have seen what happened. The man got seriously injured so it's not like it was a small argument.

  2. It seems that this is a worldwide problem. Soccer matches more often than not induce these rages with the supporters, and then they go and take it out on somebody else. Usually it's just an argument after the match, but apparently it can lead to more serious disputes such as this one, and it is definitely not the first, and I'm sure that it will not be the last either.
